![]() Thanks very much to jaded for the banner! DISCLAIMER: This isn't an easy club to join. You might even consider it exclusive. Most likely you will pull your hair out as you realize that your overclock fails. I take no responsibility for any emotional distress, or for any resulting physical damage to your CPU as you realize your voltage is utterly lacking. You have been warned. Now that the core i7 has become widely popular, overclockers worldwide have been pushing this new chip to its limit. If you are reading this now and own a core i7, chances are you overclocked it. Here is the problem, most people overclock the i7 and think they are done and stable, when they are actually far from it. Overtime, instabilities will cause severe degradation of the chip. Is your overclock 100% stable? That is what we are going to find out today! In order to join the Core i7 100% Stability Club, you must post one screenshot containing the following: -At least 20 runs of Linx passed with no errors, using a problem size no less than 25,000 (This will require your system to have around 4.8 GB of free memory, which should not be a problem for the majority of core i7 users. Allowing Linx to load and then unload seems to free up some additional memory.) -CPUz front tab showing your overclock, voltage, and threads. -Real Temp showing your min/max temperatures before and during linx. As people post their screenshots in this thread, the list below will be updated with the highest stable overclocks on top, and the lowest stable overclocks on bottom. Is your core i7 100% stable? Links to the programs you will need: Linx: www.youwatched.com/datajay/linx(0.63).7z CPUZ: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php Realtemp:http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1325/mirrors.php Club Sig Code: PHP Code:

thats MAX ram Edit: Fixed it no idea how. Screens here ![]() One with "All" ram last night, resulting in 110 succesfull runs today. Restarting LinX gave me the option for a whole new higher "All" Just did 20 runs because I'm bored and want to play some games xd

This is true with all PC components, when xxx program is known to clearly generate the most stress, use it, when xxx hours is known to represent 99.99999% stability, let it run that long. Some people don't seem to believe that. Anyway you'll be hearing from me again when I finalize this 4GHz

Can't wait to see your results! People should definitely care to be 100% stable, it has been shown that anything less will result in the degradation of your chip over time! You don't want random electrons jumping where they shouldn't be. ![]() Update: I've also now started the core i7 100% stability club! You are in once you upload your pic

Wait... why is vista maxing your ram at 4.5gb? Are you on the 32 bit version?

I'm on the 64 bit version.
If I select all ram I get this: 4536 This means a problem size of: 24331. I think vista uses more resources than Win7, therefor the 25k problem size isn't possible for me. Can't you change it to "All" ram?

Can you try to free up some system process for that extra room? I'll try to rethink the rules if its too difficult, but if you can disable some of your tasks such as windows update, any open browsers, or unneeded background tasks you should be able to get 4.8gb free. Give it a shot, and let me know.
