What exactly is "Standard" temperature? Idle? Minimum Load? And a 1 degree increase with load sounds fishy...

Are you using Intel stock cooling. Define "AIR" cooling. ANd it should be under CPU features or Advance features in the BIOS. And hidden in a sub option under that.

yup, intel stock cooling. and there is no option for overclocking or any type of change in the workrate of the cpu. I tried Ctrl + F1 but got no advancve options...

I would STRONGLY reccomend aginst overclocking with a stock cooler unless you know what you are doing. THe only reason I ran my on a tstock cooler for a short time overclocked was it was 3 days max and I was under max thermal specks.
Moving on hit delete to enter the BIOS. Please don't blow up you computer. DO NOT TUCH VOLTAGE!! You have been warned. I say this because you can fry your cpu and we don't want that. I would feel bad about a cpu in my cpu's family dying because of it. You can touch voltage when you think you know how to go about doing it. And do use it in moderation. You should beable to hit 3.3GHz at stock volts to 3.5Ghz. 3.8ghz - 362x10.5 or 400x9.5 to acheave a 3.8GHz OC which is what most people with your chip tend to hit. Only try to acheave these clocks once you understand overvolting first. I would strive for the latter so you can keep your ram and CPU at a 1:1 core bus ratio. THat is if you are using DDR2 800MHz at a true 800MHz. Hope this helps.

Hey folks, I´m new to this forums but not to ocin´ and maybe you want to know that I currently have a e7400 @3.84ghz (366x10.5) on air (with a big fancy $30 fan
__________________ ) and at 1.34Vcc. Runs cool under fake full loads (never more than 57°C), but you will need to spend something for extra cooling if you´re gonna get serious about ocing. I wouldn´t even touch my voltages without it.Foremore, Intel´s datasheet for e7xxx´s states 74°C as the functional limit and 1.36v for functional limits in Vcore: Absoulte limit within 1.49v, but they don´t recomend going beyond 1.36v. One thing, make sure your motherboard has a fixed pci-ex frecuency ratio or that you can manually set it to 100mhz in bios, because if it doesn´t, your pci-ex frecuency can rise proporcionally to your new FSB and then you can really fry your loved and very expenssive video card. ![]() good luck !
