i have this problem with my cpu usage where i game will be like 60% cpu usage and nothing else will use over 2% cpu usage on task manager and yet task manager tells me my cpu usage is 99-100% i dont get this at all. im using a pentium d 945 atm cause my q9450 died. can a faulty power supply cause this? like me being retarded and acidentally drilling a hole through it modding my case on the very edsge of the circuit board? can ESD cause this? or do i just have that bad of a cpu?

this is seriously making me miss my Q9450 and it shows me how much i took it for granted

i already knew how to do this which is why i KNEW that the only things using more than 2% ontask manager was gaming programs which use like 60% yet somehow im maxing my cpu usagge somehow

lets recap: game: 60% usage
everything else: under 2% each

unless my computer's math is retarded, theres something wrong

So, what are you doing (some examples?) when you see 2% usage?
It's quite possible that a game will be using 60% of the CPU.
What are you doing (some examples) when you see 100% CPU usage?

And, as I said, Microsoft's Process Explorer will give you a much better idea of exactly what programs are using what resources.
