Read your manual and see if your BIOS thinks your USB drive is your C: or D: drive when you run the in-BIOS flash utility.

Nope, doesn't seem like it. I read the Qflash part of the mobo manual pretty thoroughly. Anyway, I've returned the RAM kit; hopefully tomorrow I'll have a better one to play with.

Weird. I have a Gigabyte board (AMD though, not Intel) and it Qflashed just fine off my USB stick. That said when I do these kinds of things i usually use the USB ports on the back of the mobo and not the front-case ones. I've had some issues with using such in the past.

A little update ... RMAed the RAM and the replacement memory runs much more stable. Passed Memtest+ and 20 Linx runs with no problems.
__________________I've set it to 3.6 GHz and the temps are around 70C on load. If I want to reduce these temps a bit, should I gradually drop the vcore until it becomes unstable? What about VTT etc? Settings: BCLK 170 Vcore 1.3v (CPUID shows 1.248v) EIST / C1E / Multithreading / Turbo all ON LLC OFF RAM voltage 1.64v RAM timings auto (the motherboard set these at 7-7-7-17) Uncore, PLL, etc all on auto
