Yup, $170 alright...

Perhaps I should have edited the quote, so that instead of saying "Canada", it said "Canada".

I get what you are saying now about the PCI cards.

I cant make up my mind.
To me it seems I can get the i5 for cheaper, and MAYBE run at 4ghz.
I can get the i7 for considerably more money, and for sure run at 4ghz.

The dual channle and tri channel though, there is also a big price difference.

Ugh.....Good thing I am researching now and waiting till black friday. I also have a MC opening up here in STL soon

If it helps...

SLI + CF, Dual 10/100/1000 LAN, USB3.0 and SATA 6GB/s. Can't find that on an X58 (or any other socket for that matter)

They also have a combo deal for the i5 750, 6gb of ram, and that same board for like 386.

I am thinking about buying it.
Only thing stopping me is maybe not being able to clock to 4ghz, and not being able to upgrade to the i9.
But that price is nice.

keep in mind that the i9 is going to be a $1000 chip, so i wouldnt use it as the one deciding factor.

also once you get above 3.5ghz, going a little further really wont be noticed in real world tasks, whats the obsession with hitting 4.0, im at 3.8 and perfectly happy

really the factor you should make your decision on, is if you are gonna be doing sli.
P55 will sli two 260's just fine. if you are gonna sli 295's or the new 300's (or tri-sli anything) then you'll need X58

You do not need the X58 if you're going to run SLI 295 and I really doubt that will be the case with the 300's

You're not comparing apples to apples. Did you honestly think that the PCI-X controller on the die would require zero voltage?
