Please read my previous post. I edited it to answer the question. basically it isnt relevant to your setup.

try this also, set the ram Multi to 2.00B and see if you can run 400 FSB. What timings are you running on the ram? 5-5-5-15?

Those are both normal. You might try a tRFC of 60. I had an issue with an ASUS board running tRFC below 56 when OCing on an x48 board. Have you tried 400 FSB with 2.00B multi yet? What about the other 2.66 strap?

To flash the Ggiabyte bios, get a USB drive, make sure it is formatted to Fat, then copy the latest bios to it: www.giga-byte.com Then insert the USB, go into the bios, then press F8 (or F9... I cant remember) to run the bios update utility. From there, follow the instructions. But always flash the bios with default bios settings. Dont leave anything overclocked!

Here are my Bios settings using a Gigabyte EP45-UD3L and a Q9550 C1 clocked to 3.6Ghz. 24/7/365 stable.
Robust Graphics Booster [Auto] (Try turbo once stable) CPU Clock Ratio [8x] Fine CPU Clock Ratio [0.5] CPU Host Frequency [425] PCI Express Frequency [100] C.I.A.2. [Disabled] CPU Clock Drive [800mV] PCI Express Clock Drive [900mV] Cpu Clock Skew [0ps] MCH Clock Skew [0ps] DRAM Performance Enhance [Standard] (Turbo once stable) Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) [Disabled] (G)MCH Frequency Latch [Auto] System Memory Multiplier [2.00D] DRAM Timing Selectable [Manual] CAS Latency Time [4] tRCD [4] tRP [4] tRAS [12] Load Line Calibration [Enabled] CPU Vcore [1.300V] CPU Termination [1.240V] CPU PLL [1.550V] CPU Reference [0.810V] MCH Core [1.320V] MCH Reference [0.825V] ICH I/O [1.570V] ICH Core [1.200V] DRAM Voltage [2.100V] <Advanced Bios Features> CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) [Disabled] C2/C2E State Support [Disabled] CPU EIST Function [Disabled] CPU Thermal Monitor (TM2) [Enabled] Please use this only as a reference for motherboard voltages (my UD3L is essentially the same board as your UD3P less crossfire and raid support). Your memory may require looser timings, and your CPU less voltage if it is a E0. Keep an eye out and watch your CPU temperatures closely when benchmarking ensuring that none of the 4 cores exceed 70 degees celcius. I'm a bit worried your Masscool cooler might struggle when greater amounts of VCORE are applied. Good luck with your overclocking, feel free to PM me if need be.

when you say default settings.. do you mean literally all default settings? or just nothing overclocked.... is there a default settings option :? or do i have to reset it myself edit* when i said it won't run if I change the settings to 2.4b.. what happens is the the computer turns on, then off, then boots and proceeds like normal.. but the settings aren't applied.. it might be a power setting problem.. whenever I go to bios after that.. i get that error message about overclocking yada yada.. what power setting could be wrong? but 2.66c produces bsod fyi my q9550 is an e0
