The turning on, then off, then back on with default settings is actually a bios crash recovery built into many Gigabytle boards. it just means the computer tried to boot, crashed and then recovered automatically with default settings. As for the bios, there is a setting to select "default" settings. This is what you need to do before flashing the bios.

Will i c a difference between 800 and 1066? The bios crash occurs when i set spd to 2.4b Is there a setting i can change that may allow 2.4b to work?

Assuming you haven't been successful
1. Set the FSB to 400 2. Set the RAM divider to DDR2-667 before you overclock and as you pull the FSB up it will go back to DDR2-800. Basically back the divider off one notch and it goes back to whatever your RAM was when you first started. Should be all there is to it except for voltages and whatnot.

As for your ram, did you update the bios like I suggested? It worked for me on a UP3P build running DDR2 1100 ram.

at this point ive kinda given up for 1066.. from what I here.. 800 and 1066 is not a big difference.. at least it will not be noticeable unless running benchmarks or something like that. my main goal right now is to make sure my overclock to 3.4 is stable.. everything seems to be running well.. the cores idle around 36-40.. but it wouldnt less a prime95 test for 8 hours.. as i said, the cores were at 72 after about 30 min.. i can only imagine what would happen after 8 hours.. since the cores will not be running anywhere near 100% and certainly not for such a long time, how can i tell if the system is stable or not?

just run at 800 and tighten ur timings to like 4 4 4 10 or 4 4 4 12 you won't notice a difference I can get my fsb to 470ish on a p35 so I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to do this my vid wasn't so great either
