i overclocked my CPU today.
__________________i set the clock frequency to 13X and the CPU Frequency to 220 which makes it 2.86 Ghz my cpu is 2.6 Ghz PDC E5300 i made it 2.86 cause i think its not taking too much power or HIT. MOBO is Gygabite G31-M so after done.. i restarted with pressing F10 > y i found the CPU 2.86 @ the BOOT Start up Report. but when i logged in windows. i found it 2.60 the PCWIZARD & CPU Z shows the same. BTW:: Game performance Increased/Solved. CRYSIS: Halting @ zooming stopped after OC. FARCRY: Frame-skip Reduced to almost zero. MY SPEC is PROCESSOR: PDC E5300 2.6Ghz RAM: DDR2 800M 2GB PSU: Valu-top [22A on +12V] GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 4770 512 MB 750M HDD: 300GB Samsung SATA my current bios CPU setting is Clock Ration: 13X CPU : 2.20*13 = 2.860 Ghz Windows Se7en Ultimate X64 Bit Performance rating Processor: 6.4 Memory: 5.5 Graphics: 7.1 Gaming Graphics: 7.1 Disk Data Transfer: 5.9 Power Saving settings: All set to High Performance All advance Settings also set to High Performance Thanks!! I got the exact same problem. I overclock my CPU by upping the FSB in Bios, but I have no clue if my CPU is overclocked or not. CPUZ, orthos, and every other hardware monitoring program says the same. My Memory will overclock as well as my Voltages, just not core clock. I know it's saved because everytime I go back to Bios, the overclock is still there.

Okay first put your rigs stats in the user control panel so people can properly diagnose your issue. Dont feel bad I did the same thing!

Sounds like C1E and EIST. Turn those off in the BIOS and it will stay locked at whatever you have it overclocked.
Though to be honest you don't need to have them off. If you put load on the CPU, such as Prime95, Orthos, or OCCT, then I bet you will see your clock speed jump up.

Also try to keep your RAM at 800MHZ. Like dude said before when your up your FSB your RAM goes with it. Try (266 * 10.5)=2.8GHZ for CPU and (266 * 3)=798MHz for RAM.
