You should reseat your CPU.
__________________That's usually because the CPU is seated a little crooked. As you know, heat flows upwards, and if the CPU isn't set evenly the heat will flow from one core to the other. Either that or tilt your case a bit, stick a magazine under it or something, until the temperature evens out. J/K of course. What monitoring software are you using? Cooling? TIM? Is it overclocked?

unfortunately one of my 5300's cores is stuck, and i think the other mis-reads...i swear the load temps were way different when i first got it. Nothing really to worry about tbh, so long as it's got a decent heatsink on it it will be ok.

Have you tried running it so it heats up a bit, then restarting quickly and checking the bios temps right away? See what they say.

that's not going to work. Once load is dropped back to 0%, temps will follow in about 3 seconds.

:P And I could have sworn if I did warm reboots right after 100% load for a bit, the temp would stay up for a bit. Either way, if the temperature discrepancy is there even when it's cool...

My Bios only tells me the temp of my #0 core and it is still at 38 celsius in the bios. Maybe it has something to do with 'Speedstep Technology' one core is being used the other isnt much.
