Question E2140 overclock
Hi, so i just built my new sig. rig using my old e2140 @1.6ghz, a new gigabyte EP45-UD3L, xfx 9800gt, and orion 585 watt psu. I currently dont have enough money to buy a Q9550 so i want to push this chip up to the 3.0ghz or 3.2ghz range as people have reportedly been able to.

I currently have this chip at 2.8ghz, but when i try to oc it higher the system wont post. Do i need to change voltages, timings, or some other bios features?

Take a look and tell me what you think. Thanks in advanced!

try increasing NB voltage... or MCH as its called there... it may not handle the FSB.

You cant push it too far with stock cooling. Your temps are gonna go crazy

my highest temp using prime 95 with stock cooling is only 52, i think it could handle .2ghz more

How is it that he can get his e2140 to post at 1.2 volts at 2.8 when i can only get it go post at at least 1.4v? and 3.0ghz at stock 1.35?
something isnt right?

I tried increasing NB voltage to 1.2 and 1.3 but still no avail.
Why wont it post?

I have cpu at 1.45v
NB at 1.2v
SB at 1.1v
RAM at 2.1v

But still it wont post
Any help?

FSB to 400
DRAM to 2.1v
System memory multiplier to 2.66 (important)
CPU voltage to 1.35v
MCH voltage 1.26v
FSB termination 1.26v
PCI-e clock to 100mhz

That should get you to 3.2Ghz. If not, some other settings are incorrect.
