If You have money, then go with X58 and 1366, if You don't go with P55 and 1156 1366 is more future proof.

Future-proof? What exactly do you consider future-proof? If triple-channel suppose to be the future, why waste time and go back to dual channel. Has anybody at least thought about that maybe it does not require as much to do what we originally thought it was required? There may be a little truth to 1366 being future-proof but honestly, I do not think so. 1156 can do just as well as the 1366 as far as I'm concern.

It is just delayed, to give nVidia's cards time to come out, in my opinion (and by "opinion", I basically mean "fan fiction".)

I thought only dualies were getting 32nm for 1156, at least from what I've seen in Intel 2010 road maps...

EDIT: For above, here is a good comparison between SLI/CF on P55 vs X58 boards

Considering that i5 is a 1156 and is already a huge upgrade from my e5200. How huge would be the difference between i5 and a Q9550 in gaming? Especially in CPU intensive games like World in Conflict.

It shouldn't really matter. sockets only last around 3-5 years at most. why are you worried about which will last longer? There's no such thing as "future proof" in the computer market. You're either naive or stupid if you think so.
