Default Any info on i9 heard yet?
Getting torwards the end of the year so I was just curious if there's been any info or news as to the i9 and when we can expect it.

Right after they discontinue the i7's ;p seriously you'll hear more about the X68 chipset release than the i9 when the time comes

umm i9 is scedualed to release Q1 of 2010 as an EE chip, i think it has a base clock of 2.4ghz and has 6 cores and 12 threads.

i9 will probably be an 1100 dollar chip.

I remember hearing that the first production models are being given out to an extreme few during the end of march. So probably an April launch. $1000+ no doubt. I BUY I BUY!

i9 are gonna be the new computing chips for chem labs and science to fight cancer and do super computer work I'm guessing. Only the rich and dumb will probably buy a i9 for gaming/overclocking.

If anything they will launch new i7 chips with better steppings and higher clocks.

Well that's what they said when Quad Cores came out and now everyone loves i7's. I thought that i9's wouldn't be that expensive though but I guess they would be. I don't know much about this "X68"Chipset but I heard that the X58 Chipset Mobo's that the i7's run on will be what the i9's run on.
