Arrow Q6600 @ 3.6GHz Unstable

Hi all.

I'm using a Q6600 G0 at 3.4GHz (425x8) @ 1.42V at the moment... The goal is 400x9 @ less than 1.5V hopefully...

I'm using a DFI LP DK-P45-T2RS Plus mobo

I can get the PC to POST and load into windows, but as soon as i go under load, i BSoD or get incorrect results (im using Intel Burn Test)

Here is a look at the related BIOS screens:
main CPU page

Set as:
Mode 2
Enabled
1
Disabled
Multi - 9 (when trying to OC) (8 Currently)
target - 3600 MHz (when trying to OC) (3400 currently)
FSB - 400 (when trying to OC) (425 currently)
800mV
Skew0 - 200ps
Skew1 - 200ps
Strap - 400/800
DRAM - DDR2 800MHz (deafult ram speed at 1:1) (850 currently)
100MHz
Disabled
Disabled

Main voltage page

Set as:
CPU - +187.5mV (1.477V) Default voltage is 1.29V, special add adds to that. vDroop drops it back to about 1.454V when under load (only using +100mV currently)
RAM - 1.957V
PLL / SB - 1.95V
NB - 1.2700V
VTT - 1.257V
Clock - 3.45V
0.67X
0.67X
0.67X
And also another 2 options which arent shown, FSB Vref which is set at Auto and vDroop control which is disabled

RAM settings are all auto (timings set to 5-5-5-18 ~ default)

Idle temps vary widely depending on room temp. Atm at 18C room my CPU cores are between 33 and 28C. at 25C they budge 40C.

Should i be tweaking the GTLs? I have heard some people can achieve massive OCs that are rock solid from tweaking the GTLs. I have no idea on how to set them though...

Can anyone shed light on how to get it working right?

you need to raise the northbridge voltage! 1.18v for a quad at 3600 is nowhere near enough. You can go upto 1.45v without any issues.

Set it to1.35v first and see if that helps.

Set the ram divider to 333/677, in the memory timings page set the performance level to 10.

Remove the 200 ps you have added, you only need them when your going over 500 fsb.

Set the Northbridge GTL ref to .61x

Put the VTT and Northbridge up to around 1.35, you wont need higher for that fsb but that board still needs a good bit of voltage with quads.

And try FSB vref on 2A

why the 333/667 divider instead of 400/800 (which gives the RAMs default)?

333/667 is a 1:1 strap the same as 400/800. For me 333/677 is alot more stable as it changes the RCOMP settings.

You actually shouldnt need 1.35 nb and vtt for only 425fsb. Why aint you using 400x9?

Try this.

400 fsb
9 multi
333/667
0ps
0ps
1.45 vcore
NB voltage 1.22
VTT 1.2
GTL refs 67
67
61
FSB vref 2A

Pumping too much voltage when its not needed is as bad as using too little. Try the settings I said :P

Also why the hell do you have your PLL voltage at 1.95? Put that down to 1.55 right away.

Lowering the NB to 1.2200 caused my system to boot w/o detecting the GFX card properly... lol

800x600 res with no drivers, wooo!

just about to test your settings out (other than NB) will post results

Failed on the settings you gave me, then proceeded to give errors on the next two boot ups (MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and BAD_POOL_HEADER)

Any other ideas?
