Default making 2 pc's work as one.

is there any way to use more than one motherboard to emulate the results of using a multy processor motherboard? i want to try and link a few computers to make a sort of supercomputer. anybody know how to do this?

uhhhh...with a custom version of linux and a custom BIOS you can...so basically no no current OS will be ab.e to use an d integrate the parts like you said....it would be slower too unles syou made some high speed data transfer solution....

You can use load balanced .NET remoting on a Microsoft OS. So, both PC are running the exact same set of services and when you make a call, one or the other takes the task. It's not GRID computing or MESH computing (like Tandem's), but it can be useful when running coplex tasks.

In reality, if you wanted to link two machines together to "think" together, you would need a dedicated hi-band connection between them (like a gigabit link) and a custom message passing protocl that would keep the processes in sync between them. Complex stuff.

What kind of purpose did you have in mind? A literal merging of the CPU's is impossible (i.e. it would be so slow, there would be no point). They have to be on the same memory and address bus.
