Default Should I go for C2D?

Since I am in the process of returning my G-Card and RAM right now and I have $600 to put into a build(CPU,Ram,and Mobo) I was thinking should I go Conroe like this?

C2D E6300
Abit AW8D
G.Skill 2gb 2x1gb pc6400

I found out that on Ebay I can get more for my CPU than I paid for it. I figure in a combo with my DFI LP SLi-DR Expert I can get somthing like $425-450, sound about right(probably not, hoping for too much maybe)? I didn't even use this stuff for more than 2 hours before I found that my RAM sticks were bad. With that extra cash I can then finish off my new PC. So should I do it? Also if you have any suggestions to make this build better that would be super.

EDIT: Whoa C2D prices dropped even more!!!!!!!!

I'd go for the Gigabyte DS3. I've heard nothing positive about the Abit.

Hmmmm I was kinda looking for a board with 2x PCIex16 slots but since this board looks like it has some decent reveiws and I've heard the 965 chipsets are going further than the 975Xs I might as well go for it. Does anyone know if the Kentsfeilds are going to still be S775? If thats the case I can stick with it for quite some time and just upgrade my Mobo later.

Edit: Nevermind I found out the answer.

Kentsfield is a BIOS update on any Core 2 compatible board.
