hey guys i was wondering if you all could tell me if this HP Pavilion Media Center A1473w is a pretty good computer for todays standerds. i have been looking for a pretty good computer that i could overclock to sometime like 3.5 GHz. can it be done and is the computer worth it

You cant overclock a hp/dell etc (no prebuilt comp). The bios is blocking so no overclock. But if its are a good comp i dunno.

Just get the HD555's.

Specs.... You could have a celeron going at 3.5 ghz that could easily be beaten by a core 2 duo at 1.8 ghz. I bought prebuilt computers, because I got them for really cheap
If you do buy one, change the motherboard and you're set for overclocking.

ditto. if you want to overclock you need to get a new mobo and if you don't have the origional copy of xp than you need to buy a new one. unless you get it for really cheap, lets say under 200 dollers than it's really better to by new stuff or gently used stuff and build a new one. but really hp is the lesser of the 3 evils . as long as it's not dell than theres hope
