My Rig:
__________________3.0e Presscott at 3.858ghz 1mb cache with 1030FSB 1GB DDR500 at 257mhz with 3-4-4-8 T1 Timings Friends' AM2 3800 stock 512kb cache 1GB DDR800 at Stock 4-4-4-12 He claims his rig is better then mine just cause of his overpriced 7900gt he got. I understand he smokes me in graphics (I'll be getting an x800xt AIW soon anyways which will boost me up a bit) but not in overall computer power. He won't listen to me that my computer overally beats his. So I proved it in benchmarks. In PCMARK04 (or was it 05) I got 52xx and he got 49xx. In PCMark02 both my RAM and CPU scores beat his, and in SuperPI we got about the same thing: 37-38. He got really pissed off at that time cause he spent like 400$ more than me and made up the excuses that benchmarks mean nothing. What do you guys think?

I think if his rig was overclocked it would be yours. You have the tighter ram timings which accounts for quite a bit, but I think I would take his overclocked rig. He also has the 7900.

By the PCMark scores, they are close to the same, but obviously if your talking about overall - his computer would be a bit better because of the 7900gt card.

His is better. If you removed his 7900gt, and forced him to use a PCI TNT2, I'd take his. Sorry, its just newer, better tech. He could probably overclock his CPU to atleast 2.6ghz....which would increase performance by a noticeable amount.

i would have your friends pc just because his is at stock speeds and only just falls short of your pc's scores
therefore his will be better even if you had the same graphics card
