Default Will my PSU catch fire?
Yeah, I've actually had a small puff of flame burn out my power supply at one time. But on to my question...

I'm upgrading my 1gb 667mhz RAM with this:

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800

I still only have a 430w power supply.

Do you think this'll be a problem even without overclocking?

You should be okay, but that is limiting your systems performance, get a OCZ 600W or so and put all that stuff to better use! (Overclock!)

Nice avatar Jobos. Uh flame coming out the back of your PSU should worry you a bit. Perhaps it is time to upgrade.

Could you explain to me real quick how that could affect the performance of the PC... I'm not sure I understand.

Thanks. The power supply debacle happened years ago, I've since replaced it and have gone through a few computers since.

Oh wow.. lol, you got lucky then. =P

Id get a new power supply, it wouldnt hurt anyways, and it will save you from spending $1000 if that power supply decides to fail on you one day and take your rig with it.

*Your power supply will not catch fire.. unless you do something like throw water at it.... then you'd have a problem.
