Default New CPU and new OC need help....

Hello all sorry to bother you...

I upgraded my 6300 to a 6600 (microcenter marked wrong and picked it up for $225) anyways I received the new evga 680i A1 and decided it was time to push the system. The AR board wouldn't let me past 3.2Ghz and could never get stable from Orthos. With this new board I have reached 3.6Ghz and ran Orthos for 2 hrs and noticed my temps jump up to 63c. Happy with clock speeds and so far the stability but, would like to drop my temps if I could. Here are what my voltages are set to maybe these can help you help me...I am also running Idle @ 34 my room temps are about 73F.

Any help would be great....
Thanks
KillerHz

Guessing that this is the lowest Vcore you can get stable at? And what do you mean by "just updated from evga"? Did you just order a new board or did you have it replaced?

Yes I dropped the vcore down to 1.4063 & window booted just fine as of now. I have yet to test but have been running 3dMark 03 nothing shut of yet. I will test maybe later tonight. My Idle in Core Temps is 33c @ 3GHZ so hope this stays stable. All I know is I see water cooling in the future....

Well I know that several people are funning those 6600s under 1.4v at 400x9. I know of one guy running at 1.35 so Just keep working your way down and that should help your temp out loads.

Water-Cooling? My Tuniq Tower 120 keeps my E6600 at 3.60ghz with only 53c highest and about 37c for idle.

I personally don't think the Zalman's 90mm fan does a good job in keeping those heat-pipes cool enough, while the TT120's 120mm fan does indeed a better one.
