Default Idiot: needs help building a computer?

Well as the title implies, I am an idiot when it comes to computers and I really need help building one. Anyway I am a college student who is going home for the break and while there I would like to purchase parts for a computer so I can run Crysis on a fairly good setting (high or very high) at 1280x1024 or possible 1650x1080. I had purchased a book on how computers work and what the different terms mean but as finals are coming up, I've had no time to read it. I am eventually but because the holiday is coming up (and hence sales), I do not think I can learn alot about computers in only a few days. However, I've constantly searched various computer news sites and forums to read up on deals, new parts, and generally what is good to play Crysis.

Anyway, my budget is about $1,000-$1,300 max. So far I spend $200 for a Q6600 G0 (Black Friday sale at Frys) and $300 for a 8800GT SCC leaving me with about $500-$800 left. So I am asking if people can please post suggestions on what parts I should buy to computer my computer. I already have a 22" monitor from old computer, but nothing else.

Things to note:
-I do not know how to overclock and I do not think I will (though that may change in the future). So please go on the assumption I will not/may not overclock. However I do have a Q6600 so I suppose I may have to overclock in the future (as people say it is easy to get it to 3.0 ghz).
-I will be using windows xp as vista and dx10 doesnt seem to be good for Crysis or various other games these days.
-I probably will not SLI in the future.

I am sorry for not doing more research and posting choices instead of asking for individuals to just give me answers. I have finals coming up (tommorrow) and I have to study like crazy. Unfortunately Christmas is also coming up and so various deals are popping up as well.

Thank you very much for future response/feedback and for taking the time to look at my thread.

Alright, you've set yourself up with a great processor and Video card. Let's see what we can do about completing that and fitting your budget, eh?

Motherboard- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...879&CatId=2014

Power supply - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...309&CatId=1483

Case - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...579&CatId=1510

RAM - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...686&CatId=2261

CD/DVD drive - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=2968565

Hard drive - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...Sku=TSD-500AS2
Comes to 604.94, decent grade stuff, not TOTAL top end, but should suit your needs very well. As for a keyboard and mouse, I'm sure you can find something fitting easily enough. If you need any more info, just send me a PM GOOD LUCK!
