hi folks, please help me.i got all my new rig's parts today and started assembling them myself.started off by pulling out the old mobo and components, committed harakiri and smashed the front of my case on a wall
so far so good,i somehow pulled the old mobo out and got the new one in taking care without shorting anything.put in the processor and the hsf after some uncertain movements![]() plugged in the cables and finally turned on the power supply, but the thing won't boot. the cpu fan refuses to turn and though the led showing power on the mobo is in red there is no sign of computer starting up,even my psu's fan does not work![]() i tried using the old mobo again and it won't work either with the same problem...i am guessing that my power button has been smashed senseless by the wall and won't operate.any solutions as to how i can start my computer??my specs are- intele2140 abit ip-35e corsair 450vx psu 2gb transcend 667 DDR2 ram and an old pcie gfx card |

The mobo has a power button. Where u plug the led switches from the case you can use a screwdriver and start it up by touching it. So where ever u plug the power switch from the case is where u touch

There are pins for the power switch to plug in on the motherboard. Did you plug the power switch in?

I think the problem is he doesn't have a case and the abit IP35-E doesn't have on on-board power switch.

when you buy a new MB it comes with a book. within that book is a pin-out for several things like hdd activity reset button POWER BUTTON
__________________If I understand correclt. set up everything as if it were ready to go. find the pinout in the book and momentarily short the 2 pins for the power Kinda Like kingsnake2 said. I hope that helps you
