Default What Ram???

Hi Guys
I'm In The Process Of My First Build And Am Unsure Of What Ram Would Be Best For My Setup.
I'm Going To Be Running A 2.8ghz P4 800mhz Fsb (northwood) With A Coolermaster Aero 4 Hs & Fan On A Dfi Lanparty Pro875b With A Gainward Fx5900xt Which I Plan To Run With The Fx5950 Bios.
I Really Need Some Help As I'm New To This. Also, Is My Graphics Card A Good Choice?, I Haven't Bought It Yet But Was Going To Get It Soon.

i hate to tell you but no matter what intel system you build its not going to be very good...
but if i WERE an intel builder id:
your nvidia choice is good but just get a 9800 pro if you can
get ungodly fast ram like 4000 or whatever your budget will allow...also NAME BRAND RAM MATTERS...kingston,crucial are both excellent choices....

What do you mean? Intels perform well. If he can overclock it to 3.2ghz that will perform better than a barton at 2.2ghz in most cases. I'm an AMD fanboy also, but that doesn't mean Intels don't perform good. Each chip has things they're good at.

Ya you must be pro AMD... Intel's are good in there own way and overclock rather well. If he's lucky, he'll be able to push his 2.8 up a whole Ghz like 3dgameman did with a swiftech hsf.

Intel chips excel in multitasking compared to AMD chips because of it's hyperthreading tech. Also if you check some comparison reviews, there are alot of things that Intel excel at compared to AMD. AMD is better for gaming because of the higher FPS it can achieve and it handles DIVX compression much faster. I think it's DIVX... or was it dvd compression.. I can't remember.

i think its a realatively simple comparison....price/performace...

if your building a system...GREAT CHOICE WITH THE TECHNOLOGY THAT IS COMING TO A DEAD HALT BECAUSE OF HEAT PROBLEMS....

yes...i could buy a ferrari that can do 200mph for 300,000 ....or by a porche that can do 200mph for 60,000....i hope its obvious that farrari is intel and porche is the AMD....

i can by my mobo and cpu for 200 all together....
how much are you paying....oh yeah....lets not bring that up...

flops...this is more or less your gaming guide to power....
price to flop ratio....but you dont want to talk about that either intel...

speed...yes you have more mhz....they dont mean as much as mine however...

you may have more weight in pennies but i have less wieght in dimes.....who has more money???

dear god i could make comparisons liek this all day....

also you REALLY have to love a companie who almost directly lies to the dumber customers by flinging around mhz....all i can say is "ahem pipeline depth...."

oh my god i love amd....if you were smart you would too.....

My point is: someone creating a thread asking about what memory they should buy shouldn't turn into you trying to get them to buy an AMD system.

Just because you love AMD so much doesn't mean everyone else needs to love them too. AMD isn't that much better than Intel as you seem to think, performance wise anyways. EDIT: you say price/performance, then you say get an opteron...

Also, the heat problem Intel will have to deal w/ in the future has nothing to do w/ him buying a 2.8ghz chip. You also say Intel is lieing... they say they made a 3.2 ghz chip and they did... where's they lie in that?

Again, this ISN'T the thread to argue about Intel vs AMD. There'll be a deticated thread for that sometime.
