Default FSB hole or FSB wall?

What are some signs that can prove if its the CPU or the motherboard causing instability?

Never!. I want to push this chip to the max under 1.55vcore. So far im at 4GHz with 1.456vore. I tried 4.1 with 1.55vcore and it wouldnt even get to Windows loading screen.

you can drop your multi and try a higher FSB to see if you can get past the hole.

Only the NVIDIA chipsets have an issue with the chipset strap which is what causes the FSB Hole in the 600 series and 780i chipset.

The problem is that as you increase your vcore to it's limit, you run into the law of diminishing return, or better explained by limits. So as you go from 1.30v vcore to 1.40v vcore, you might get a 1GHz OC, but as you go from 1.40v vcore to 1.5v vcore, you might be lucky to get an additional 300 MHz OC.
