Current Price: 71$

This is what I'm planning on buying. I really want a quad-core, because I plan on doing video editing. I want a motherboard that can overclock. I want a modular power supply, ultra's seem nice. However I'm wondering whether I should get the 400w at Tiger Direct. Would run probably for about 50$ with shipping. I only plan to run one card, 8800GS, 8800GT, or 9600GT in this system, so I don't think I need 600watts. But will 400 be enough? I eventually plan to get a sound card, I don't know how much power that'll eat. The case, just wanted something that seemed like it'd be easy to arrange all of the parts, I guess this is totally tool-less, so that's good. It's also fairly attractive and I'd assume it has all right air-flow.

Lastly, do you guys think any of the prices will drop on these items? Or maybe the cost of shipping be removed? I'm kind of on a tight budget, this is going to probably eat almost all of the money I have right now. I think I might wait with the c2q because just a week ago it was 180$ (really kicking myself for not picking it up then... T_T )... But I'm thinking about getting the motherboard right now, I can't see the price getting much better then that. Same probably goes for the PSU.

So... I guess I'm asking...

400w PSU for 50$ or 600w for 64$ for the rig stated above?

Does anyone have previous experience with the case I chose? Is there anything better for that price?

Do you think there will be price drops on the case or c2q anytime soon?

1- don't skimp on your PSU you will regret it
2- I have 2 coolermaster cases and I love both of them for there quality and ease to work with
3- I have no clue on when, why, and how much cases drop in there price. I got my CLAmmo from new egg for free with a mail in rebate

Agreed, a good PSU will make your life so much easier.

I love coolermaster cases, but if that 534 is anything like their 'Elite' series you'd get a better value out of a standard centurion or (if on sale) a CM 690.

Price drops? It's electronics.. they always drop its just a matter of when. You really can't even think about price drops unless there's a known drop in the near future.

I asked about price drops because people were claiming that there were supposed to be some on the 20th. I didn't see any. Also, I remember last month newegg had an "end of the month" sale, I don't know whether or not that is a monthly sale, hence why I asked.

And are you guys saying there's something wrong with the power supplies I chose? They both seem quite good to mean, from what I remember they both have a single 12V rail and are modular. Modular is a big thing for me, this is my first time building a rig and I'm trying to make it as easy as possible. So far everything I've heard about ultra is positive, so...

Edit: the cm690 looks nice, but it's like 35$ more. :/

I'm personally not a fan of the Ultra power supplies. They're decent but I just had problems with 2 of them. But that's just me. This is a great list: http://www.overclock.net/power-suppl...-supplies.html and the two you picked are on it. It's hard to go by one person's opinion but easier when there's a consensus on a forum w/ 1000's of users.

The CM690 went on sale like crazy a few months ago. Also check your best buy for a Rocketfish... great case and some BB's are selling for $40-60. Mine's selling for $92. :\

there was a price drop on the 20th, by Intel... look at how much a Q6700 goes for... the Q6600 only dropped by like 20 or so, though

Yeah, but when the q6700 was being sold for like 500$ you could buy barebone kits that included it for 600$... So I never really payed much attention to that. And the q6600 and been bouncing around since it's initial release as well.
