Default Building a work pc for my girl, need some help.

She does advertising and works a lot on Adobe Photoshop. She also does some video editing. I know its recommended to use either 2gb or 4gb for your ram but I'm not sure about if she should take the leap to 64bit yet. I know she doesn't need any SLI stuff so I'm looking into some of those intel x38 mobos but I'm not sure which one to get her. Also I'm debating between a q6600 and the new E8400.

I'm loving my q but I don't know which she would be better off with. Budget is around 1 grand and this is including shipping. As for video cards I think she needs one that can do High Definition play back. Thanks a bunch guys.

I'd say get her a quad core with 4GB of RAM. Video card, well I'd wait for other's responses for that. The Quad and the 4GB of RAM though would help tremendously with the work she does, and if she does LOTS of multitasking. Just my $0.02 though.

Definitely a Q6600 and 4gb of RAM. As for a video card I would go with this ......http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814133208. This video card is perfect for rendering on a budget. I think overall you should be pleased.

Is going to a quadro really worth it? I know they are preferred for professional rendering but for the same price I can get an 8800 card.

If the extra 100$ isn't a huge issue, then I would absolutely go with the top link of ram. I've heard extremely good things about those sticks of RAM...would have bought them myself had money not been as much of an issue.

For motherboards...hmmm, I doubt she's looking to overclock at all?

If she isn't looking to overclock, heck even if she is...This board has been recommended many times over to me.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128059

It should be more than adaquete if she doesn't want to OC, and I know you can OC well on it, it just has a heavy vdroop from what I've read. I'd buy that board and save a little so you can put more towards the high quality RAM.

I personally purchased the DFI Lanparty DK board for 139$ but I got it for it's extremely high ability to overclock well.
