A friend phoned me up yesterday, wants to buy a box from me. Unlike all the others who have choked up on me at the last minute again and again, this guy has his parents paying with credit card, so it's a sure thing. He told me his budget was 700$CAD, and he wanted new stuff. I managed to make him spill over a bit. Here is the parts list.
Motherboard:Solid P35 board, I don't think I'll be needing to change that. Processor: 45 nm, futureproof, runs cool, overclocks great. Overkill? Should I put my money elsewhere? RAM: Gskill Pi, didn't expect to see this kits come this cheap. Hard drive: Seagate 7200.10 250 GB, solid as well. Carte video: 8800 GS by EVGA. For the price, probably the best card. I considered a 9600 GT, but I would need to cut off 30$ somewhere else. Power supply: Unsure about OCZ stuff. Case: Nice looking, case, but cheap enough for a non-enthusiast. I'll also be adding whatever DVD burner comes cheap, and a CPU cooler in the 30$ range. What do you guys think? Keep in mind that this guy isn't a super gamer, he's lived off of his dad's old macs all his life. No SLI, no CF. If you suggest a part, please link to NCIX Canada. Thank you for your comments.
