I plan on playing a lot of games on my 42in LCD so I want to go with SLI right away

I think I'll go with the Corsair 1000HX PSU so I don't have to upgrade for a while

I've also been looking into this CPU cooler

If you think rap sucks or isn't "real music", quit being pretentious and go sample something that isn't on the radio:
De La Soul, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Brand Nubian, Canibus, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Gang Starr, Digital Underground, Kanye West, Immortal Technique, etc.

Better yet, try to make a 4 minute spoken word poem read to a beat that doesn't suck or sound corny if you think hip hop has no talent.

eVGA - rocks
that is so foolish, 2x 4850 will beat that. 4870X2 beats it,,, so imagine 4870 crossfire. I'm sorry nvidia fanboy(s) your gonna have to accept defeat I think.

How Soon do you plan on finishing your order?

780I for MB, Nice choice. They do have 790I Ulta, but that's like 100 bucks more. Do you want to pay for DDR3 RAM?? :P

E8400 for gaming, good OC capabilities, Games that use Multiple cores are really using them very effectively yet.

For Video card, check out those a few new benches for the 9800 GTX I (correct on name?) In July they're projecting to drop the 9800 GTX to $199, and Introducing the 9800 GTX I at $225 - $230. These are rough estimates.

If you go ATI, look for a good Crossfire board. (I haven't been paying attention to ATI lately)

I'd get a Q6600 instead, from what I understand the 45 nm quads don't overclock any better but they're way way more sensitive to voltage...
Also for the video card I wouldn't get a 9800 gtx, its the same as G92 GTS (again from what I understand)
I'd just get an ATI 3870X2, that should be quite a bit better then a 9800 gtx.
And I'd trade out the Tuniq Tower for a thermalright ultra 120 extreme and silverstone FM121, it'll cool your processor a couple of degree's better then the tuniq.
Lastly if you decide to get the 3870x2 you should get this motherboard too: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131227
That way you can crossfire in the future, plus intel chipsets are better at overclocking.

Read this thread It'll give you more scoop. It looks a bit better than the 8800 GTS IMO

This is the improvement to the initial 9800 GTX

I live in the "Bermuda Triangle" of electricity cover: whenever there's a storm (be it lightning, rain, or snow) we always lose power, and that is not an exaggeration. That said, I've NEVER taken a hit from any of these storms whatsoever, and I've had PC's here for nearly 15 years. It's really a toss-up between the E8400 and Q6700 (the 6600 isn't OC'ing as well these days), and the battle shifts back and forth depending on what you want to do. In the end, it's up to you.

so do you, or do you not use a surge protector?
