I seem to have started having random restarts yesterday. My temps are ok on my cpu and gpu. My psu should be more than powerful enough. What could be causeing this instability, should I try raising my vcore? Why would i need to all of the sudden?
EDIT Yesterday my hdd got currupt so I thought that was the problem but it seems like a power surge. Everything just goes black with no bsod just like it would if the power flickered. Maybe a bad psu or outlet? or does a hdd failing look like this? EDIT With all the info I have and trying different plugs etc I have decided the power suply is the problem. Everyone agree?, cause im gana rma it. Also should i seem to have the option of repair or exchange, which should I do? EDIT IT JUST DID IT AGAIN WITH A DIFFERENT PSU!! Im trying again with the different psu but what else could it be, ive tried multiple outlets and multiple power supplies and my hdd passed the WD diagnostic. WHAT IS CAUSING THIS!! EDIT Well its NOT my mobo either...so most likely the hard drive. ive done tons of virus scans and found nothing. Im going to try a fresh install on a different hard drive and if that works i will do a repair install on my hard drive. If the repair doesnt fix it Ill have to RmA the hard drive.

One possibility is a instable overclock. When I tried to overclock my processor to 4.0Ghz it kept crashing.
Faulty hardware? Did you overclock your 8800GT mem Mhz to over 2000Mhz? Because that has permanent hardware damage. Hope I help ![]()

Adding vcore to the GT is NOT recommended especially on the stock cooler... or any air coolers for that matter. It will only fry the thing as far as I have heard. Just leave it at stock.
How many volts are you feeding your processor? Whats the VID for it? Is it stable? What revision is the processor? G0, B3 etc... OFFTOPIC: I don't think the 20" you have runs at 140x1050 dude. Hope I help ![]()

Check: Event Viewer, in Administrative Tools. Note when the crash happens and check with event viewer for any system or application warnings.

Right now, it sounds like what happened to my brothers and I rig.
__________________Did you transfer your computer over to someones house? Cause it sounds like it is either 1.) A short or 2.) Overvoltage of the PSU. 2 Happened to us, and we had to get new PSUs. But, it is the one I have right now, and I am liking it a lot.
