Use this coupon code at newegg for $30 off that acer monitor EMCAHABAE. I would go with these RAM and go with a 150GB raptor and a 640gb western digital caviar. I also would recommend waiting for the 4870x2 to come out and see how great it is and also see how Nvidia responds, I think the GTX 280 might be a very attractive value card in a few weeks. And I really think that case is a waste of cash, if you are going to do watercooling I would get a silverstone tj07

One question though, shouldn't you get a sound card? Is it even important?

P.S. I'm in the same boat as you on the space thing. I can't figure out why people can't manage their hard drives, why do they need all that space?
I'm going to test things out with no sound card at first, then I'll grab one if I think I need it.

As for the hard drives, many people only want theirs filled half way. Performance starts to deteriorate significantly once the drive is more than half full. Either that or people just go crazy and think they need way more than they do.

U can go with two 160gb's and put 'em on RAID 0.
I dont know how to setup RAID 0 but i know its a little faster than just having two hdd's.

A couple of These wont hurt much. But in any case, just get 1!
Would two of those in RAID 0 be faster than a velociraptor?

Except the Maximus can't go x16 x16 in crossfire because of the P45.

if your budget supports it, get the DDR3 version of that mobo and get a $250ish 4GB kit

+rep for all of you

Dont thinks so..
Performance is between 2 non RAID 0 drives and A raptor.

of course, if u have the money get 2 raptors in raid 0.

By the way, What cooler do you have for the q6600.?

before you answer, let me suggest 1. its about 65 dollars.. but its worth every damn penny.
