Default $2,500 budget - Ready to go!

Hey everyone, this is my preliminary plan for my new build. I have a $2,500 budget. I need to leave money for tax (8%) and around $300 for water cooling.

I plan on heavily modding my case, adding windows, vents, etc.

All opinions are welcome! Help me out!

EDIT: UPDATED PRICES AND COMPONENTS

Processor: Keeping my Q6600 G0 Stepping

Case: LIAN LI PC-A71B $225

Motherboard: DFI LANPARTY DK X48-T2RS LGA 775 Intel X48 $225

Video Cards: 2x Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 $595

Power Supply: ZALMAN ZM850-HP 850W Modular $170

Memory: CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 1066 (TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF) (with MIR) $96

Hard Drive: WD Velociraptor 300GB 10000 RPM $300

Monitor: Acer P243WAid 24" Widescreen" $390

DVD/CD: Pioneer 20X DVD±R DVD SATA (DVR-215DBK) $30

Subtotal: $2,031

This leaves me with $420 for water cooling and $50 for tax (found some tax-free retailers).

I say you get some different ram. I've had 2 sets of Dominators and they never really impressed me. Sure they run at their specified ratings but OC like poop.

I would go with a 24" screen and that case looks eerily like the rocketfish which is a $50 case.

Could you suggest a better option? Thanks man. (I found this RAM attractive because of the price and the little fans. I'm going for WC, so I won't have too much airflow to cool the ram)

The 24" Samsungs nearly double in price. I can't really support that budget; I would have to make a cut somewhere. Wasn't the rocketfish discontinued? They are similar on the outside, but the A71 has many more features and (in my opinion) much better interior design.

What's the ETA on those? I'm afraid of getting into the whole "wait for the next gen" cycle...It seems like a ripe time to grab the 4870's.

Reps all around for the help

They should be out in the next 3 or 4 weeks. I have the money now for a for 4870 but I'm holding myself back and just waiting for the x2. Either way it wouldnt be a bad choice to get CF 4870. Best cards out right now for price/performance.

want to send me the ballistix? That list looks really well thought out, but I don't know about the velociraptor. Seems pretty expensive for the benefit you get.

Yea, and I want to get them soon so that I can play during my summer vacation. Once school starts I don't have much time. Thanks again
