that's a nice investment, just change the mobo and there you get a good computer with less than 1000 usd, very good.

As a starting point i looked for X38s or P45s but they were way out of teh sort of money Beast has to spend.

R.E. nvidia, I definately and strongly think HD4850 is the way to go, saimply because this is a budget build and the HD5805 is cheaper and faster than the 9800GTX. Also if he did swap to a 9800GTX well then he'd have to cut back oneverything else to accomodate the extra cost.

Now TBH i don't know much about coolers, but just from hearing it come up so much here, Sythe Ninja?

P.S. Presumably as we're looking at 750i/P35 then they all allow you to change FSB/vcore/multi/divider etc via BIOS features for OCing and don't suffer from massive vdrop or anything?

Also when Beast asked me about what sort of OC to expect, i steered well clear of predicting what he could achieve, but considering the fact that he's going to have a wolfdale core, G.skill memory and a "solid" lol P35. I guess he can expect very high 2.8/2.9 just by raising FSB, then 3.2 pretty easily with a bit of vcore? then 3.3/3.4 depending on cooling.

Hey Beast, I promised i'd build a similar PC on a UK site... and it came to £630 or $1260. Only difference is OCZ memory and a 780i not a 750i
