Intel Chipset PM965 vs GM965
Hi folks,
 My first post here ... I hope I have it in the right spot ... I have searched and searched various Forums and Threads and have NOT found a Straight Answer to this Question that I have. Lot of Laptop builders (Sager, DELL, Toshiba, ... name it ) are supposedly selling you a Laptop with Intel Chipset PM965 and dedicated GPU (nVidia Card) ... and when you get your darn laptop and you run a PC utility and it tells you have a GM965 Chipset .. you go what the heck!  Q1: Is Chipset PM965 "performance" much superior to GM965!?!? Please put your answer or explanation a "dummy proof" lingo. Q2: Would returnthe darn laptop for just this one goof on Laptop builder part GM965 instead of PM965!?!? Thanks a Bunch in advance for any help ... G!  |

so... did u buy the laptop with dedicated gpu and it didnt come with it or something?
pm965 doesnt have a graphics driver. i think gm965 is a part of pm965 or something like that. i think u got wat u payed for. you just had a misconception

id get cpu z and see if it says under the main board tap if there is a pci e 16x slot

ok well with that i would say you prolly have a mmx card then, i think. i dont know laptops really well.
