Sorry for the slight thread hijack, but is there that much of a difference between a quad (oc'ed ~3.6) and an E8400 at 4GHz in terms of gaming?

But for gaming, you're better off with a dual-core processor because the vast majority of games don't utilize four cores. The only argument for quads these days is the extra cores could handle background tasks.
