Hi,

Objective... oc quad 6600 left the voltage on default, and raised my FSB to 333, for 3.0GHz.

Budget ... under $1000 Cad

os = winxp sp3 and vista premium dual boot [have already]

Use for mostly video editing, dvd encoding but some minimal gaming.
not going to SLI/Crossfire , not raiding

Please check if my configure will work together or recommend me others better parts.

cool, looks good so far, I would go with a little higher wattage PSU just to leave you a bit more headroom, Modular psu from what I understand are less efficient due to extra resistance from all the connectors but that was just something I read some where, no biggie. If your going with a q6600 get an oem processor instead of retail, they are cheaper, only difference is that it doesnt come with a stock HSF, since you are buying an aftermarket one you wont need it. saves you like 30 or 40 us dollars, your ram speed isnt too crucial because at 333mhz you cant really find a ram in ddr2 to match your bus speed, you can either underclock to 667, buy 667 or go with a different ratio and just get some really good quality ram, I have Mushkin ddr2-6400 ram, more sufficient for me because I underclock mine to 667, but its cheap too, only 42 for 2 gigs so around 100 for 4. I see that your unsure on a case for your rig, just about any mid-tower or Full-tower should accomidate your setup, I would go with a full tower if you dont care about wieght simply because you have more room for everything, and you wont run into any dimentional problems, but a mid will work too. other than that looks like your within your budget and ready for a pretty sweet system. :

Eh, no, stay with that PSU, they are very nice, and you don't need headroom if you're not raiding or CF/SLI'ing, and I wouldn't really consider it overkill. The modular attribute does nothing to jeopardize the output, don't worry about it. And are we talking about serious video editing, where attention to detail is crucial, or what? If so, the 8800GT's are slowly becoming obsolete, you might want a Radeon 4850 for that (tons of shaders, only $200). But yeah, for your quad, get the OEM, the stock coolers are worthless. For the case, just make sure it has AT LEAST one fan for pulling air in and another for pushing it out. If it were up to me, I'd just find one with good airflow. Uh, it's not that big of a deal to find DDR2 RAM. Basically the 667/800/1066 etc. is the speed in MHz, and then that number multiplies to give you its relative value compared to other kits. RAM also has timings, so yours is 5-5-5-15, which is basically how fast the RAM talks to itself, lower numbers are better (5-5-5-15 is pretty much the standard for DDR2 memory).
