Like others said, I think there's an option for power by keyboard in many BIOSes, otherwise, if you're asking about a mac, most older macs have power buttons on the keyboard, but I think that they only shut down the machine.

LOL @ the people who say no.

My DS3 was the best...I'd type in KOPI [enter] and my system would turn on..i took out the front panel switch so nobody but I could turn it on MUAHAHAH.

But go into your BIOS and under power options it will say Power On By [OPTIONS]. Usually you can do spacebar, ctrl+escape, and sometimes like my DS3, password

Yeah, I have it in my Bios. Only for PS/2 keyboard though, couldn't do it with USB. The option was 'PS/2 Keyboard PowerOn' under 'ACPI Configuration'. There are two selectable options for it.

1) Disabled
2) Any Key

Selected any key, hit F10 (save CMOS and exit), shutoff the machine, went and got a PS/2 keyboard (i normally use a Dell usb), plugged it in, hit a random key, and it booted like normal: posted and went into xp

So the idea was to use a wireless keyboard and mouse and set the computer up right next to the HDTV...

That way I can just stay on the sofa and turn on the computer with my keyboard.

So if the option is available in the BIOS, is this doable with a wireless PS/2 keyboard?

possible, althought I'd think wireless boards would all be USB, and a PS/2 to USB adapter probably wouldn't work with the wireless drivers. Then again, I don't know what your bios looks like, we don't have the same motherboard

AHA!

I was setting this up with the Asrock-4CoreDual motherboard... not the SATA II though... but close enough.
