Hello all, I attend many Southern California LANs, and I live in Northern California so this thread is for my highly mobile, yet capable LAN computer I'm building. If you guys have any suggestions or questions, leave them here! Thanks for your support guys!
So I already have my build planned out, let me know what you guys think! Case: Aspire X-Qpack2 500W PSU no Window Black on Black CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180 2Ghz 1M 800Mhz CPU CPU Cooling: Ultra X-Wind CPU Fan Aluminum Socket 775 w/ PWM Motherboard: ECS G31T-M Intel G31 Socket 775 Motherboard GPU: EVGA GeForce 8600 GTS 256MB PCIe w/Dual Link DVI SUPERCLOCKED Optical Drive: Lite-On DVDRW 20X SATA OEM w/o Software HDD: Seagate 80GB Serial ATA HD 7200/8MB/SATA-3G RAM: Corsair TWINX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz E.P.P. Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy SE Network Card: Trendware TEW-443PI 108Mbps 802.11g WLS PCI Adapt I am on a budget of about 600$ or less in hardware, any suggetions to my build? I plan on playing CoD4, CS:S, and CS. CoD4 seems to be the only real challenge here, I have 8600GT 256mb model in my desktop, and it runs the game at 125 fps solid, so I'm assuming the 8600GTS superclocked to 625 core clock should suffice. Thanks guys!

If you aren't overclocking it, you won't need the CPU cooling.
Do you really need a sound card for it? Where are you buying this from? You might be able to get a higher end motherboard with wifi for less than the ECS and a wifi card.

Looks pretty solid man for the games you will be playing. I'd honestly step in and pick up a 4850, it's small and it'll destroy all of your games for a decent price. Yet heat may play an issue, but you're not looking for quiet at a lan haha.

Yeah I plan on overclocking the CPU to 3.2 zone, at least 3.0GHz plus, that's why I got the aftermarket cooler.
And I'm so iffy on hitting up ATI for a decent product, it was so bad for long, I'm having trouble accepting it. LOL

So the parts are officially ordered, I'll post the SS's of the games and give some specific framerate and reports on how this will handle
, thanks for the input on the HD4850, but the budget couldn't afford it.Although, I talked a friend into getting a HD4850 with his new rig and he took my word for it, so I'll get to see how his goes, both of us disliking ATI, thanks for the input!
