Going Blue for the first time?!
Yes it's true. I cant justify my AM2 system anymore, as i seem to have hit a glass ceiling, and I have decided to switch over to intel.
I am buying a q6600 g0 (lapped) and an evga 780i motherboard from our very own talntid, and i plan to leave everything else the same in my rig. what kind of overclocking should i expect from this combination? And will i be able to see any visible FPS increase in my games? (i play at 1920x1200) I'm so excited!!

I think you should hold off for a bigger upgrade. Your processor at that speed is more than enough for today's apps. I know you have the upgrade bug, but make sure you get your money's worth.

An Intel dual-core would still be better than what he has now. (Not counting the lower end chips)
