The primary differences you'll see between the P35 and P45 is:
__________________1. The P45 is a bit better in crossfire mode (although if you want to go crossfire the X48 chipset would be a better choice 16x16) since the PCIe slots can run in 8x8 while in crossfire mode as opposed to the P35 which runs 16x4 in crossfire. 2. The P45 is a slightly smaller chip so it runs a bit cooler. Other than that, there's differences between the two, and they both overclock very well. Out of personal preference, I would prefer the asus P5Q or P5Q-pro over the other boards except for DFI if you can find them. The 3 P5Q based boards I've used have all been extremely easy to work on and overclocked relatively well. I have been avoiding Gigabyte after a couple bad experiences with their earlier P35 boards. Don't go for a lower quality PSU it can easily turn into an annoying and possibly very expensive problem down the road.
