hello i want to find the best components for my first pc, it will be for anime, movies(hd?), music, programming. i also want it to be a nice overclocker (thats why i will go for intel, i would be all over amd if they were in the same class of overclocking). questions:
__________________1) my local reseller has these prices for cpus: e7200: $125, e7300: $145, e8400: $180, e8500 and Q6600: $200 actually i don't want to pay lots of money for the cpu, i am high on e7300 but i dont really know everything about them. which one gives better value for their prices? the extra $20 from e7200 worth it? 2)the board in my mind is the gigabyte Ga-Ep45-Ds3. how is it? should i go for some asus p5q? 3)for the case and psu i am considering THIS (sorry the page is not english but you dont need to read anything anyway) how are the lian li cases and the fans inside them? and is the 580w recom a nice psu? (i know nothing about them). 4)i figured that i need a better cpu fan (not the stock one) and found Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. it isnt anything pricey and the comments on newegg are nice. is it a nice cooler? (in terms of noise and cooling) 5)and when will the 775socket be replaced? i heard that will be really soon. i won't be thinking about upgrading the cpu for 2 or 3 years but should i wait? this is my first post. sorry for all these questions, i didnt want to make a lot of threads so.. hello everyone.

I am just about ready to build my next rig and am going to utilize the Q6600 due to how well it overclocks. I have also used a number of Lian-Li cases and they are great cases but tend to be a little pricey.
__________________The 775 is being replaced in a couple months with the release of the i7 but that does not mean you need to wait. For the budget you are trying to maintain you are not likely to be able to go with an i7 when they are first released. If I were you I would try to wait until October-ish when prices on the current generation processors should drop some.

1) I'd go for the E7200. It is a very good overclocker.
2) Great board choice! I haven't heard much about the P45 budget boards but if its anything like my P35... 3) I can't really say anything bad about that case. You get what you pay for ![]() 4) The Freezer 7 Pro is possibly the best in its price range. Excellent. Keeps my 65nm dual under 50C load with 1.45v so a 45nm like the E7200 should be child's play. 5) LGA1366 is coming out in November or so. Depending on what you do you probably won't have to upgrade. Most games don't use more than 2 cores (although you said you wouldn't game anyway) and the rest of the stuff you mentioned isn't really CPU heavy. Good choices

I'd go for the E7200 if you're on a budget, or move up to a E8400. You can easily overclock the E7200 and the end result will be similar.
For the motherboard I'm not sure about the Gigabyte one but the ASUS P5Q is a nice one. The Freeze 7 Pro is a cheap budget cooler. If you can try to get a XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 or a OCZ Vendetta 2 since the Freeze 7 Pro won't allow much overclock headroom.. since it's a budget cooler. Lian-Li make very solid and well built cases but yes, they tend up be on the expensive side. 775 should still be around for a while now. Quads still can't be fully utilized unless you do rendering, etc. With the new Nehalem coming out... 8 cores is just too much for a normal user. A dual core should suit you fine until the next major release.

The AC7 Pro is a great cooler, the Xig and Vendetta2 are better.
Lian-li makes the highest quality cases in existence. I would suggest looking for a better PSU though. Antec Earthwatts 430w is a great PSU that is dirty cheap. If you need more power, the Corsair 550VX is calling your name.

And I haven't seen a Freezer 7 Pro withstand 1.50v on a 65nm. But if I'm wrong then I stand corrected.

thanks people for your answers, e7200 it is
__________________![]() i would like to know a little more about the motherboard but i really like gigabyte. i can't say much about the cpu cooler maybe i will read some reviews on the net. would anyone recommend Scythe Shuriken or Zipang (a little pricey though)? and there is this cheap lc-power lc-cc-93. the case seemed pretty nice to me as it is small and also supports atx boards, it is made of aluminum and hearing that Lian Li is a serious case maker from you gave me a relief. i don't know the fans inside it though, will i need to put in a pair of zalmans? the price isnt really important when it comes to the case i think. you SEE the case and put your computer in it so i would rely on some cheap plasic, i see horrible cases everywhere. and for the psu, i won't do heavy gaming so i will pick up an hd3650 or 3850. i found some reviews on the Recom 580W and they are saying that it is dead silent and fairly effective too, it comes bundled with the case so i think is a meaningful choice. if there is anybody there that thinks recom is bad i may choose the bundle that has led fans and a window

- Corsair 450VX - Seasonic S12-430 They might be dear, but they are of high quality and could run a full fledged HD48xx or 98xx fine

2. Get the DFI PK35 Mobo great overclocker mobo just as the gigabyte one. 3. Any case from Lian Li is great, for a PSU id stick to a name brand such as corsair, thermaltake, pc power and cooling 4. Try a Thermalright Ultra, pretty sufficient CPU cooler out there or a Tuniq Tower. 5. No need to suggest other sockets, Nehalem doesnt seem very promising and that wont be for years.
