For CPU cooler you should go with Xigmatek HDT-S1283. Cheaper and better.

What is wrong with the memory I chose? What is the wrong with the HDD? And also, what is wrong with the cooler? If you could leave comments as to why you suggested some different hardware, that would be much appreciated.

Also, if I'm not going to CrossFire why should I get an X38 or X48 motherboard?

I've got that monitor (the 28"), and although Custom PC have apparently slated it in the new issue, i still enjoy it.

How much have you got left to spare after this new revision build? Where are you buying it all from?

I'd also pick up some Senn HD555/595's if i were you, they'rejust as good for gaming as they are for music (not sure if funds will allow you though).

Aside from that, things look alright to me.

I'm buying everythiing from Overclockers.co.uk. Unfortunately, 22inch is the maximum monitor size that can fit on my desk. And this is apparently one of the best 22inch monitors you can get for under £200.

I'll look into a PCI Wireless Card. There are quite a few, have you got any suggestions?

I am about £30 over budget as it is.

The zalman cooler is descent but no where near as good as the xigmatek.. its been tested the difference between both is pretty dramatic.. the xigmatek has a whooping -7 over it.. And you being a gamer im sure hope you'd like a nice cooled cpu!

Yes, but the Xigmatek has an fiddly installation, and takes up more space. The Zalman seems to have very good reviews, and should be more than adaquete for overclocking an E8600 to 4.0Ghz. I was originally considering an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, but apparently the Zalman is a lot better.

Edit: http://www.custompc.co.uk/reviews/98...d-lga-775.html

Ooh, it seems the Freezer 7 Pro would be a better choice.

In that case, I'll switch to a Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R motherboard (since the F7P doesn't fit on the P5Q Pro) and get the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. I've used the F7P on two previous builds, and have got great overclocks out of it.

To be honest, I'm stretching my budget as it is, and would rather not go for the Xigmatek due to that and the other reasons I stated above. The overclock I'm going for is not even that much, so the F7P should handle it fine, it has done on the other Core 2 Duos that I've overclocked with it. If I was going for a Quad, then I'd get something like a ThermalRight Ultra 120 eXtreme.
