Should I stay with the OCZ memory then? And why is the WD better than the Seagate?

Get yourself a CPU cooler that has the bolt-through installation rather than the intel push pin method. Bolt through enables you to fit it tighter, which will (iirc) help your temps a little bit more.

The ACF7Pro is old-hat now man, an it only has a 92mm fan, as opposed to a 120 from the Xig or the OCZ V2. Isn't the Xigmatek's redeeming feature, its low price?

Also with the RAM, i'd consider the Geil Extreme stuff, with the orange heatspreaders. These have (again, iirc) the D9 memory chips, which are, or were, the ones to go for when i bought mine.

What's the difference between the E8600 and the E8400 ? Isn't it just the clock speed? If so, why not get the lower one, they're pretty much a dead set for 4.0Ghz anyways aren't they? Would also save yourself some moolah for other areas of the build.

With regards to RAM, it might be worth picking up two sets of these, as i'm not sure how the Black Dragons perform.

Also, regarding the CPU.. The E8600 is £182, whereas the E8400 is £112. That's an extra £70 for 330Mhz. Ask yourself, is it worth it?? 330Mhz is an increase of about 50FSB tops. You would achieve this easily, surely. Just somehting to think about.

With the said spare £70, you could get the better RAM, or a better CPU Cooler, anything really.

And as far as HD's go, i've never had a bad experience with the Samsung Spinpoint and F1 ranges. Top drives.

where are you buying from? i would not suggest OCuk as they are not good with RMA, and are way overpriced...

try SCAN, or ebuyer, or novatech... all of whom can offer free delivery (in the case of scan, you need to be registered on some forums...) novatech offers next day working del for orders over 50, and i am pleased with thier RMA procedure

ebuyer is very cheap, and offers fast delivery too...
