I agree....$7,000 is insane to spend on a computer. Go out and put $5,000 into a Roth IRA account, stock market or the housing market so that you can put that money to good use. The other $2,000 could go towards a nice vacation or it could be used to pay off the monthly bills. Please be safe and sane with your money.....this is my two cents.

Honestly, anything much over $3,000 is rather pointless. Most components spent over that amount won't generally contribute a whole lot to overall performance - at least not performance that will actually benefit you (or be able to actually notice) - especially in relation to how much you're spending on them.

Pay off your debts first, then buy something.

Do you want to spend $7500 because you can? For gaming I am guessing?
Intel Skulltrail Motherboard $630 2 x Intel QX9775 $1550 each 2 x ATI 4870X2 $550 Each 2 x 8GB DDR2-800 FB-DIMM $680 Each 4 x WD VelioRaptor $270 Each HighPoint RocketRaid 3510 $310 SilverStone OP1000-E $240 Dell 3008WFP $2000 SilverStone SST-TJ07-BW $330 This one might break the bank at $10150..... But it is a start!

Just take $500-$1,000 and update some parts, buy a nice huge HDTV and save the rest. You never know when you might need it.

How about if you go get some classes about managing your money.

Congrats on the Win! I agree with the above posts, you can run anything at the moment so why bother? maybe a 24" monitor would be worthwhile.

You'd be very wise to save a good deal of that money. Have your mom put it into a CD or something and hold onto it for a while. Use some of it, but don't be so quick to use all of it in one shot. You'll regret it when your system goes out of date. Use it to get something that will last a much longer time!
