Although I do agree, an E8400 would probably yield slightly better performance in games than a Q6600 (overall), given it's improved 45nm process and ability to clock higher. This, of course, only applies to games that aren't multi threaded (well). But I haven't seen very many games that effectively utilize all 4 cores ATM. That may change over time, however. If I were you, I'd pick up an HD4850 or HD4870 and maybe a new PSU (like the Corsair 750TX mentioned earlier) or a new 2 x 2 RAM kit.

Ok Guys Im going to pick up my check today and its going to be like $150. So Ill have like $330. Anyways. Here are the choices you guys are saying.
e8400 e8600 q6600 9800GTX+ 9800GX2 GTX260 2 gigs more of G.Skill ram Better PSU Thats the thing. If I get a better video card. Will my 500W PSU handle it? It handles my 8800GT and everything else very well. But which of these should I get. And maybe post a link to a good deal in my $300 price range.
