Building a rig for friend...I need help!

Check Tigerdirect.CA, they have some good Barebone kits to get you started that are a bit under that.
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...234&CatId=2405 This and a good graphics card might do him well. I'm sure you can make one for a bit cheaper that's a bit better than this, but this is a good place to start if you're not great at finding cheaper parts that perform alright and are compatible.
