For the same price as that 9800gtx+ you could get a radeon 4850 and a decent p45 board and have the ability to crossfire, and avoid nvidia chipsets all together, while also having the ability to scale.

4850 is faster too, and requires less power plugs.

yea what I just said in the previous post, it only has to have 1 pcie 6 plug instead of 2 that the 4870 has to have, u can get a good p45 board for around $130-$140 if u need some links let me know I can help you out.

I'm not sure on the price compairison, but I have 2 OCZ Xstream PSU's and I love both! Soild and my 1000 watter is smaller then most standard 1000 watt PSU's. Also OCZ has the best tech support on the planet !

I would recommend you going with the Corsair 650w power supply, you would be able to SLI on that later on if you want too. And get 64bit OS since you have 4GB of RAM and 512MB of graphics memory. And about the case, never had of the brand but they seem to be pretty trust worthy as well as the case looks pretty nifty.

Other than that I think you'll be fine.

I don't really see any disavantage to the Corsair 750 that I went with, it supports crossfire and has the power I need and more. The 64-bit OS vs the 32-bit OS is something I've been kinda throwing around in my head. If I go 64-bit I can easily throw in more memory for cheap and max it out at 8 so I'll probably go with that. As for the case, yeah Thermaltake's got a great name and this case is huge and seems like it comes with everything but the kitchen sink which I like because I don't want to have space issues inside the case or issues when it comes to fans fitting properly and that sort of thing. Thanks for the advice!!

Gir, one of the members from this forum, told me that the P5Q-E and P5Q-Deluxe were great for overclocking, even beating out the P5Q Pro. I can suggest you get that instead of the P5Q Pro.

As for the 4870, you're playing your games/movies at 1680x1050? Might as well get a 4850, because the 4870 will start to shine at resolutions like 1920x1200.
