Question E6400 OC'ing voltage questions...

I'm running my E6400 on an eVGA 650i Ultra mobo and have a TT Blue Orb II cooling it. It is currently stable at 3.35 GHz @1.41V. Under 100% load it stays around 37-40 C.

If I go to 3.4 and go into any game for more than a half hour, it does a BSOD, but the error code is for memory (which I have set at 2.1V, 4-4-4-12@850 MHz). It is OCZ Reaper PC2-6400 so cooling shouldn't be an issue, especially since I have my room cooled at 55 F (I'm a Viking).

My question is thus - Would upping the Vcore and dropping my RAM frequency to 800 MHz let me go to 3.4 or beyond? Also, PhoenixBIOS will let me take the Vcore to 1.6V, but how far is too far? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

He means this:

To get to 3.4 you need 425FSB.
Setting ram divider to 1:1 this will mean that the RAM runs 850Mhz.

So he means that 850Mhz @ CAS4 will be almost impossible to achieve.
So if you run your CAS Setting on 5-5-5-18 you might be able to aim more Mhz, 3.5 or so.

Default Well...

I set the timings back to 5-5-5-18. In the BIOS, I can get the FSB to 1500 MHz (3.375 GHz). When I go to 1501 or more, my RAM frequency automatically drops from 800 to 750. Ideas?

It may be an issue with the bios you're currently using. I'd try updating it.
