Im having issues booting with my sig rig. It starts up and after it goes through the vista loading bar one screen goes off and the other sits there black. Any suggestions? I cleared the CMOS and set everything back to stock.

Are you using the LCD POSTer? (I think your mobo is equipped with it)

If so, what error is returned?

I dont have the LCD poster. I bought it as an openbox.

Would it show the error even if is crash while its booting in windows? I have a friend that has one so I can go get it.

Im running mem test now to see if its the RAM

Use the vista cd and run chkdsk.

Memtest just finished up and passed with flying colors

I was able to boot into safemode, so this is a software problem. I havent made many changes so im not sure of the source. Any ideas as to what would be causing this? This machine has been stable for months up until now.

Okay, I tried the restore and its still having issues. I was able to get to the desktop but all the programs are crashing.

You tried a System Restore (rollback), or were you referring to the chkdsk?

Virus scan, Malware scan?



If you can get into Safe Mode, have you considered backing up your files and re-formatting and re-installing?

I know that that can be a PITA, but sometimes I simply give up and burn it to the ground and start anew.

try running hdtune to check if your hard drive is failing..

One of my hard drives in RAID is failing. The Intel Matrix Storage Console keeps popping up asing that there is a failure. Is there anyway I can save this?

Is it the hard drive or can the RAID just be rebuilt?
