Default $2,500 Rig, Intel + ATi, Rate + Suggestions Plz
Hey, I've been asked by a friend to spec out a computer for his brother, and this is what I've come up with.
*Note: All prices are in AUSTRALIAN (Western Australia) and in-store. Online is not preferred. I use staticice.com to check prices.

Order: Mobo-CPU-GPU-RAM-PSU-Case-HDD-OS-Drive(s)

- Asus P5E Deluxe ($291.98)
- Intel Quad Q9550 ($412.50)
- Gigabyte Radeon HD 4870x2 ($689.00)
- Corsair Dominator PC8500-1066 ($185.00)
- Antec TruePower Quattro 850W ($229.00)
- Antec 1200 ($223.00)
- 2x 500Gb Samsung SATA2 7200rpm [1TB RAID 0] ($144.00)
- Vista Home Premium 64-BIT ($159.00)
- Pioneer SATA 20x DVD ($34.00)

Total: $2367.48 [Out of a "Supposed" $2,500 Budget]

Any suggestions on what to change, or stick with this, I've looked hard for cheaper, and this seems pretty kick-ass to me.

*They don't need any peripherals, just the "Computer".

Looks pretty good to me, but if you want me to nitpick at all, I'd have to say drop the Antec 1200 and go with a 900, that is if your friend would like to save some space from that behemoth of a case. It'd save a few bones, too.

no mobo?? if ur planning to use ur old one to oc a quad it wont be so good as it only has 3 voltage regulators and bad mosfet+nb cooling so perhaps cut down a bit on the CPU maybe change it to a q9450 and change the ram to some decent ddr2 800 and u can get a decent x38 board and can even allow CF down the road

Sure that's the cheapest?
I found this setup for €1.474,06 and that's a roughly estimate of $2.180.

Sorry, I forgot too add the mobo
I'm not using the one in my sig rig, THAT'S MINE, the client is getting a new one .
