Default You tell me: Do I need 4 gigs of RAM?

Going to be doing some gaming, lots of Photoshop (many batch operations,) some video editing, and some photo, music and video conversion and transfer. What do you think? Price is a top priority for me, so I don't want to pay for 2 gigs that I don't need. Would it be safer to buy 2 gigs of that good G.Skill and buy more later if I need it?

Judging by the apps you use I would go for 4, though 2x2gb and not 4x1gb

Depends on the brand really. If you have 50 bucks to dish out on extra 4GB WILL make a difference but then you'l need to buy a 64-bit OS. Vista home premium or basic x64 is good. 4GB DDR2-800 is a great choice. Anything past that is rediculous.

LOL I don't really consider a $26 difference "cheap"... It's a pain trying to keep a build cheap But I guess I probably should spring for that extra RAM.

You will definitely want a decent GPU as soon as possible too.

If 26$ isn't cheap in your eyes, I'm afraid you picked up the wrong hobby.
