dose any 1 know how to turn off speedstep on a dfi lt up x48 motherboard as i am trying to start overclocking and i need to do this but cany find it?

go to "genie bios setting" then go into "cpu feature" and you should see it in there.

sry for being a noob lol but in cpu features all i see is the following
.thermal management controle .pmm(eist) mode .limit cpuid maxVal .c1e function .virtualization technology .core multi-processing i know its probibly 1 of those but im new to the whole how pc's actually work so sry if it sounds silly

Disable all of those EXCEPT multi-core processing and just for your info c1e is speedstep
.Edit: Since you said you are new to this I thought I would also point out that your board supports ATI Crossfire and not Nvidia SLI just in case you thought your board supported SLI too.

i have disabled all except multi core ind in cpu-z still get a 1600mhz core speed any ideas??

Go back into your bios and make sure your cpu multiplier is set too 9x.
So you would go into genie bios then make sure your "CPU Clock Ratio" is set to 9. Also make sure your "CPU Clock" is set to 266mhz.

thats done it my multiplier was at x6 see i said i was a noob.lol.. just getting into the grove of all this im sure it will be fun. right i think ill look into reading how to do a small overclock now cheers hout17
